History
Both in-demand session musicians, songwriters & performers in Jazz, Pop and world music.
Steve Taylor & Josie Frater have collaborated, produced & performed with the likes of award winning Asian guitarist producer Nitin Sawhney(beyond skin- soul immigrants), for folk guru Brendan Power (later with Jools Holland, Riverdance/Van Morrison) singer & BBC Radio 2 Broadcaster Janey Lee Grace (Steve Wright in the Afternoon) Maggie Reilly (Mike Oldfield). Jazz vocalists Ian Shaw & Claire Martin,
plus writing for TV & Radio.
world runners inspiration comes from music traditions & styles from around the globe:
Pat Metheny, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Big Band Jazz, Magma -Christian Vander, Dave Mathews Band, Ella Fitzgerald, Airto Moreira & Flora Purim.
Originally known as 'the runners', their Debut album "Phoneic" built a reputation in the 90's for blending jazz, funk, folk and world music in a new and exhilariting way.
Thematic melodies, World-beat grooves plus Josie's mix of lyrics & trade mark phonetic sounds- creating a sophisticated and lush sound.
